Schedule of classes
Please note that you are NOT CONFIRMED for a class unless you have received Email confirmation or a telephone call from the Director.

If we do not have at least 6 dogs per class, that class will be canceled.

NO refunds nor exchanges after the completion of week 1 of your class.

If Frederick or Montgomery County has a snow emergency due to inclement weather, we do not have class.

This is class is offered to Puppy Preschool and Canine Etiquette graduates or with permission from your instructor.  Your dog will do a series of confidence building exercises including tunnel work and learning "over", "under" and "through" as the beginning building blocks to agility.

Puppy Preschool:  Puppies do NOT come week 1.

This class is for puppies 8 weeks to 4 1/2 months.  There will be a puppy playtime each week if appropriate.  Your instructor will give you detailed reasons as to "why the puppy does that" and educate you on correct puppy behavior.  During the 6 weeks, the puppy will learn sit, down, no bite,  wait (pups aren't born with patience), settle down (quit wiggling!), sit to greet, loose leash walking, no jumping, coming when called and leave it .  This class is FULL of information for the proud "new parent".

Canine Etiquette:  HUMANS ONLY ON WEEK ONE, NO DOGS

Puppy growing?  This class is for dogs from 5 months old, through their golden years.  No matter what the age, dogs love to spend quality time with us and this is the way to do it!  It's the perfect course to take after our puppy class or to learn the basics with your adult dog or adolescent puppy.  In the 6 weeks of this class the dog learns sit, down, loose leash walking (what do you know?  there's a human at the other end of the leash!), heel (hey, I should really pay attention to that human on the other end of the leash!) , stay, wait, coming when called and most importantly how to pay attention to us when we're communicating with them!  The humans learn "doglish" through detailed instruction and in turn, the dog learns Human as a second language and to relax and listen.

Canine Etiquette Level II:  HUMAN'S ONLY ON WEEK ONE, NO DOGS

This class is a natural progression from Canine Etiquette I.  In the 7 weeks of this class we begin to add distractions and "chain" commands, meaning the dog will be getting more input and the human will learn to use more than one command at once.  For example, we pair "coming when called" with "leave it" so the dog learns that "coming when called" means coming to you even if there is a bone on the floor in it's path.  We work on perfecting "stay" so that "stay" means plop your fuzzy rear end down and do NOT move, even if a human or another dog is around.  We also expand on "loose leash walking" and "stay".   In Canine Etiquette Level I, we worked on getting your dogs attention, in this class we work on KEEPING it.

Canine Etiquette Level 3, 4 and Advanced:

These classes build on what you have learned from Canine Etiquette Level I and II.  By now the instructors know your dogs and you.  The classes are structured toward the individual dogs and humans and what they would like out of the classes.  How far would you like to go?  Would you like to get your Canine Good Citizenship title?  Move onto agility or Rally?  Or just impress your friends by putting the dog in a "sit stay" while you fix dinner?  We will build more and more distractions into the classes.

The Level III class begins to prepare you for a Canine Good Citizenship title, introduces your dog to Rally O/Freestyle/and agility and anything else you want to work on.  Your dog will be learning difficult behaviors such as "Stand/Stay" and going into the Down position from a "Sit Stay" with you standing across the room from your dog.  Doggy parents have input with the curriculum taugh.

The Advanced class is completely based on what the students want to work on or learn.  Both classes are by special invitation only.

How far you want to go with your dog to do is up to YOU!

NEW RALLY O CLASSES!!!
What the heck is Rally O?
Picture yourself and your dog playing a real life board game!  You are the pieces moving around the board....what fun!!!!!

Rally O is an obedience "sport".  In Rally O you are allowed to talk to your dog, praise your dog (even beg your dog) to do specific behaviors.  It's done on a numbered course (think golf!) so you get some exercise too!

Why take Rally O?
*It strengthens your bond with your dog by working as a team
  *It enhances obedience behaviors
*Because you are being "unpredictable"  your dog learns to  pay more attention to you on walks and in life
*It's a bridge between Obedience and Agility for those dogs  not ready to run off leash in a classroom
